Bob's interest in photography began in 1968, while serving in the U.S. Army. His service allowed him to see both sides of the world, it's people, landscapes and the not always noticed things that Bob brings to you with his photographs.

As Vice President of West Coast General, a long established general engineering firm, Bob was able to be outdoors much of the time while traveling to their different project sites. Bob has always been eager to share the view from his truck, which is, for the most part, his office away from the office.  At first he would describe in detail, over the phone, the beauty of the world as seen through the window of his truck. Then the technology of digital cameras and wireless internet provided Bob with the tools necessary to share with friends incredible photographs of the view through his office window, as he was seeing them.

Being a native San Diegan, who has had the privilege of spending his childhood and his adult life living, working and playing in beautiful southern California, has served him well.

Bob would at times make the comment “No one has a better view from their office than I do", and with some help from a friend and the encouragement of others, the name THE OFFICE VIEW and web site has come to be.
  
While speaking to a friend one day, Bob commented that he wished he could write a book about all the sight's and experiences he's had over the years, but that doing this would take too long to write it all down. His friend replied, “Bob, you do… through your photographs".
